Millar Angus, Newell, SD and Deep Creek Angus, Midland, SD teamed up again to bring a great set of bulls to Philip Livestock for their annual sale. The bull buying public has really accepted these two young, progressive operations as a source to buy top-notch Angus genetics. The bulls are backed by excellent customer service as was noted by the large number of bulls selling to repeat customers.
The Millar and Deep Creek operations complement each other very well in the type and kind of cattle offered, as well as in their management. Bulls were in top sale condition, but not over done. Both operations stress the normal Angus traits of calving ease and performance along with the ever increasing important carcass traits all tied up in an eye appealing, structurally correct animal.
Also selling was a group of commercial open yearling heifers from a select group of past bull buying customers. These heifers are sired by either Deep Creek or Millar bulls. The top selling draft of heifers weighed in at 740 lbs. and sold for $1,100 per head.
