Millar Angus Cowherd

At Millar Angus, we place a great deal of emphasize on the cow. For a cow to stay in our herd, she must be effecient and functional, raising a big calf with a consistent breed back year after year. Our herd consists of deep-bodied females that provide the thickness, length and good udder quality that our customers look for. Our cows must also be easy-fleshing to reduce those always rising input costs.

Millar Angus Cow

The first cows purchased by Millar Angus trace back to the foundation bloodlines of Marshall Pride and Black Revolution. The sires PS Powerplay, Blackcap Granduer 3427 and QAS Traveler 23-4 also played an important part in estblishing the herd. More recent sires such as: Sitz Traveler 8180, New Design 036, Sitz Alliance 6595, SAF Focus of ER and SAV 8180 Traveler 004 have been integrated into the herd.

To continuely improve our herd we follow a strict breeding program that consists of synchronizing our heifers to start calving January 10th. The cows are AI'd for one natural cycle to start calving January 20th. The clean-up bulls are then turned out for 40 days.

Great pride is taken in the herd we have put together over the years. You are invited to stop by the ranch anytime to take a look for yourself.
